Banksy in Chicago
A few weeks back, I had the chance to drive into the city after work to check out Mr. B’s latest piece in Chicago. Needless to say it was seriously awesome getting a chance to see his work again out on the street rather than through blog post after blog post.
When I got home that night, I had found posts about the “You Concrete Me” piece that wasn’t too far away…so I was a little bummed I didn’t know about that one earlier so I could check it out while downtown. I am still making plans to get back to the city to see this one, though it has already been defaced and somewhat restored by some of the local artists.
I had the opportunity to see the Rain Girl in New Orleans. At the time, I was under the assumption based on what I was told at Jackson Square that the Rain Girl was the last remaining piece from his previous tour…well I was wrong. I recently found out that there are a number of the pieces that are still intact. Lucky for me, I will be going back to New Orleans this summer on vacation and will be making a mini-expedition around the city to snap some pictures.
You can check out the rest of my pictures from the Chicago trip in my Banksy set on flickr, including a picture with a “guest model”. This set has the pictures from the Chicago visit and the one photo I was able to get of the Rain Girl, as we were in a bit of a hurry. More pictures will be added after vacation in July.
